Implementation Guide

Perhaps the most important component of every Resource Packet is the Implementation Guide. Organized to complement the two "educator" videos as well as the eight "student" videos, the Implementation Guide serves as a complete orientation for integrating the videos, hands-on activities, and on-line resources into one powerful teaching tool. Each Implementation Guide features:

  •  An overview of the module
  •  Three to four achievable student learning objectives per video
  •  Hands-on activities and online extensions, aligned with NAS/NRC National Science Education Standards and AAAS "Project 2061" Benchmarks
  •  Pre-Viewing, Discussion and Quiz questions
  •  Vocabulary words defined online in corresponding interactive "Word Search" puzzles

The WEATHER AND CLIMATE Guide is still being finalized, but will be available by July 2001. The following sample chapter (from the PASSPORT TO ANTARCTICA Implementation Guide) illustrates the format and content of all the P2K Implementation Guides, and shows how studying Earth and its systems relies on key science concepts to understand the phenomena we see around us.
