2.2 FOOD WEBS Connections across the natural world
When you open your refrigerator, do you ever stop and wonder where the food comes from?
No, not the supermarket... where ultimately in the natural world does your food originate?
Could you track today's lunch back to its beginnings?
In this video, we'll look at two very different food chains to see who eats what and why...
We'll see that, at the most basic level, all food is about energy... and that food chains are maps of how energy is transferred, and matter recycled, through an ecosystem.
And find out how even the lowliest organisms like bacteria and termites play a very important role in keeping our environments productive and alive.
