The Discovery of Pluto

A mysterious planet
Far from the sun
Had anybody seen it?
No, not one.

For fourteen years you searched
Through every turn and bend
Then one day in '29
You finally reached the end

You had found lots of Asteroids
And even found a Comet
But none of those were as dear to you
As this one tiny planet

But then came the question
What shall we name it?
Then a girl in England said
"Maybe I can name it."

The name she suggested
Stood above the rest
Pluto: such a simple name
But you thought it best.

Now it is your birthday
So I had to say Hello
And learn of your discovery
Of our farthest planet Pluto
