QUESTION: I would like it if I could find information on the consellation Scorpious. I am in a group of kids writing up a report on it so I would appreciate it if you could send me some info. ANSWER from Ed Colbert on April 16, 1996: You will be able to find lots of information about the constellation Scorpius in books in your library. You might want to check out some amateur astronomy books that have photographs of all of the constellations and descriptions of all of the objects in that region of the sky. You can usually find many galaxies and gas nebulae in constellations and plenty of stars! What is truly amazing is that there are many more objects in Scorpius than you will ever be able to see with your own eyes. Many of the astronomical objects emit radio waves, infrared light, ultraviolet light and X-rays and our eyes are not sensitive to this type of light. Good luck with your report and I am sure you will find some exciting things in Scorpious.
