QUESTION:
Does the Hubble Space Telescope have special ground systems or does
it share its facilities with other space projects?

ANSWER from Marty Durkin on June 6, 1996:
The Hubble Space Telescope does have its own special ground systems.
This ground system is responsible for sending the commands, taking
the images, and receiving the data.  HST does share communication
satellites (TDRSS - Telescope Data Relay Satellite System) with NASA.
